Synaptics ClearPad S3706 Touch Controller Offers Flagship Performance, Low Power Consumption

SAN JOSE, Calif. – July 11, 2016 – Synaptics Incorporated (NASDAQ: SYNA), the leading developer of human interface solutions, today announced availability of its new ClearPad® S3706 touchscreen controller solution. By utilizing the capabilities of Synaptics’ S3706, smartphone manufacturers are able to enhance their product portfolios by enabling their premium models to feature high-end touchscreens and longer battery life. Synaptics’ S3706 delivers many innovative features including multi-finger touch performance with moisture on the screen, low-power wake up gestures, support for 1mm passive pen with eraser, and thick-glove touch support, and FaceDetect Plus™ which eliminates the need for a proximity sensor. ClearPad S3706 also integrates Synaptics’ high-performance analog touch-sensing circuitry to address noise generated by displays that feature Full HD, WQHD, or 4K resolution.

“We developed the ClearPad S3706 for higher-end phones that require premium touch performance, but do not need flagship features such as ClearForce™ or SideTouch™,” said Tim Vehling, vice president, Smart Display Division, Synaptics. “Our latest touch controller is ideal for smartphones with high-resolution displays providing excellent touch performance while consuming less power.”
