Synaptics’ multimedia processors are driving advancements in the smart home. By leveraging our established expertise in high-performance, power-efficient chip designs, Synaptics’ solutions enable an interactive and immersive multimedia experience with seamless connectivity for next-generation AI-based smart home devices.

Synaptics’ VideoSmart series SoCs include CPUs running at up to 40K DMIPS, gaming-grade GPUs, voice, and Neural Network processing units. These powerful solutions combine a CPU, NPU, and GPU into a single software-enriched SoC. They empower smart multimedia devices including set-top boxes, over-the-top (OTT) streaming devices, soundbars, cameras and smart displays.

  • Unmatched Video Resolution
    Qdeo® video processing software & firmware enables decoding and display of multiple UHDp60 streams and converting to the highest HDR color format. The UI can be generated at SDR and upconverted to HDR or natively generated using HDR colors.
  • Premium Audio
    Synaptics’ SoCs embed Far-Field-Voice technologies supporting cloud assistants, e.g. Google, Alexa, or a local assistant with a custom (even dual) wake word created by Synaptics. Advanced playback processing, e.g. Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, are also supported.
  • High Dynamic Range
    Significantly expands contrast ratio and color palette to offer a more realistic, natural image on UHD displays. Synaptics VideoSmart supports industry standards such as HDR10, HDR10+, HLG and Dolby Vision.
  • NPU for AI
    New use cases are enabled through the use of Synaptics’ advanced and secure SyNAP™ AI framework. Through this framework, partners can implement new monetization schemes as well as enable new differentiating user experiences.
  • Multi-core CPU & GPU
    Enables compelling user interfaces and provides the processing power needed for new service provider apps such as gaming.
  • Robust Security Engine
    With secure boot, Secure Media Path, TrustZone, video watermarking. Major DRM/CAS supported enabling a unified platform. SyNAP AI framework security mechanisms protect AI models and AI-processed content.
